Tanzania – Education for hospital employees

Amount: € 11300

The Kabanga Hospital is a small peripheral mission hospital but with a large regional function in western Tanzania. The hospital has 190 beds and is well equipped by Tanzanian standards, including seven nursing wards, its own outpatient clinic, three operating theatres, an X-ray machine and a laboratory. Partly thanks to these facilities, the local population in this vast area often comes from far away to the Kabanga Hospital for the necessary medical care.

In recent years, the Foundation has financed the training of ten employees of this hospital. These are anaesthesiologists, nurses, medical doctors and care managers who follow training in Tanzania and then remain affiliated with the hospital for at least 3 years. By following the courses in Tanzania, the costs are relatively low and many employees can make use of these possibility.
