The Foundation's first official actions took place during Christmas (2009) and the New Year (2010). A total of 387 Hanze University employees donated their Christmas packages to the Hanze University Foundation.
In addition, during the New Year's breakfast, each school organized a collection for the Foundation's projects. This was coordinated by students from the Institute for Communication, Media and IT. These promotions together raised €13,725
- the SAIDIA Student Foundation;
- an Eye Clinic for Kabanga Hospital in Tanzania;
- a Teacher Training College in Muhanga, Rwanda.
