Derrick is a third year, male, diploma in emergency and trauma student at North Coast Medical Training College in Kenya. His parents normally cater for him and his younger sister. His father was doing some business and his mother would be a casual worker in the companies around. He has been serious with his education and passing his exams. Socially, he relates well with his colleagues and lecturers. Due to the closure of some companies and reduction of employees other companies his mother has really struggled and is lucky if she gets a job one day a week. His father's business collapsed due to lack of customers and sales and he is now at home.
