The Kaliro Technical Institute is a technical school in Central Uganda. This school offers its students hands-on education with the aim of preparing them for a job in the country's rapidly changing technical environment. In order to achieve this goal, they need practical rooms in addition to a good education program to convert theory into practice.
At the Kaliro Technical Institute in Uganda, 300 students cooked on a small wood fire. There was a need for a kitchen in which a hot meal could be safely prepared every day. The Christmas campaign by the Hanze University employees was for the benefit of a new kitchen.
To achieve this, the following activities were carried out:
- Preparing the land for construction
- Erection of a simple building
- Installation of water and electricity
- Buy energy saving cookers and oven
- Decorating the kitchen (tiles on the walls, tiles on the floor, installation of worktop and sink)
