“Mijn Summer Schools aan de Hanzehogeschool bij de Academie voor Gezondheidsstudies was een eye-opener wat betreft gezondheidsproblemen, en behandelde gezondheidsproblemen vanuit een breder perspectief. De Summer School heeft mij geleerd om gezondheid niet alleen te beschouwen als iets dat de individu en de gemeenschap waarin de individu zich bevindt beïnvloedt, maar ook als iets dat mensen en gemeenschappen voorbij de grenzen van verschillende landen beïnvloedt. Met andere woorden, het Global Health and Quantified Self (GHQS) programma, zoals de titel al aangeeft, gaf mij een globaal perspectief en inzicht over individuele, gemeenschappelijke, en wereldwijde gezondheidsproblemen, en de daarbij horende cultuurverschillen die erkend moeten worden, om ziektes en infecties wereldwijd op een meer praktische manier aan te pakken.””My study at the Hanze University of Applied Sciences in the School of Health Care and Applied Sciences during the Summer School was an eye opener into health issues in a broader perspective. The Summer School taught me not only health as affecting the individual and the community in which they find themselves, but also affecting people and communities beyond the borders of different countries. In other words, the Global Health and Quantified Self (GHQS) programme, as the title implies, gave me a worldwide view and insights into individual, community and worldwide health issues, as well as the cultural differences that need to be overcome to appreciate tackling diseases and infections globally more practically.”
