Mary is a third year, female, diploma in community health student at North Coast Medical Training College in Kenya. She is a calm student, ready to learn and disciplined. Academically, she is able to cope well. Mary normally depends on her cousin and various local bursaries for fees. The parents are very poor peasant farmers and even in normal circumstances they are not able to provide. The cousin has not been having any job since COVID-19 measures were implemented and due to the travel restrictions, Mary has not been able to go to the various offices where she normally goes to be supported with bursaries.
